Membership of the Society is open to all European radiologists who have a prime interest in gastrointestinal and abdominal radiology. By this it is assumed that they will be spending at least 50% of their time working in the sub-speciality and would certainly have published in this field. Interested radiologists need to apply online. Their application will be forwarded to the membership committee who will approve the application within 4 working days. Applicants will then become provisional members, who enjoy the same benefits as ordinary members such as reduced registration fees for annual meetings/ workshops and receiving newsletters. During the General Assembly (at the ESGAR Annual Meeting) following the application, the provisional members will be officially approved as ordinary members and will consequently be granted the right to vote during future General Assemblies. In addition radiologists from outside of the continent of Europe can be considered for corresponding membership by the same criteria.


MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

Active Membership
The active membership of the Society is open to European Radiologists, who have a prime interest in Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology.

Membership fee: € 110.00

Junior Membership
Residents can become junior members while training for specialisation in General Radiology and/or training for Sub-specialisation in
(1) Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology
and/or
(2) Interventional Radiology.

Application for Junior Membership must be accompanied by a confirmation about the residency status of the applicant, signed by the head of the department.

Junior Membership is valid for three years at maximum or will end once the residency in radiology is terminated.

Junior members have the right to vote but not to hold office. They shall be subject to congress fees and shall pay a reduced membership fee.

Membership fee: € 55.00

Corresponding Membership
Radiologists from outside Europe can be considered for corresponding membership.

Membership fee: € 110.00

Associate Membership
Non-Radiologists with a special interest in Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology such as radiographers, nurses, etc. can be considered for associate membership.

Membership fee: € 55.00

Corporate Membership
Corporations or other organisations, including commercial enterprises, interested in the activities and objectives of the society, contributing to the Society by funding.

HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER OF ESGAR

Applications are received by the chairman of the membership committee. Applicants are elected as ordinary members at the General Assembly which takes place at the annual meetings.

ESGAR FELLOWS

By-Laws 4.1. (c):

Active members, for at least 3 years, who have made a significant contribution to Abdominal and Gastrointestinal Radiology and Related Research Areas. A Fellow should be involved in daily practice or teaching or research, predominantly in this field.

Members wishing to be considered as fellows should be recommended by 2 ESGAR fellows.
