After several Liver Imaging workshops have successfully been held all over Europe, ESGAR is delighted to announce the 1st ESGAR Case-based Liver imaging Workshop, to be held at the Societè Francaise de Radiologie headquarter in Paris, on January 17 – 18, 2019.
This two-day intensive practical course will focus on the most common current indications for liver imaging – cirrhotic patients, oncological patients, patients at no risk with incidental findings and response to therapy of liver tumours.
The course consists of two modules per day for a total of four modules. Each module will last 3 hours and will be assigned to one speaker. There will be a short lecture (5-10 minutes) at the beginning of each module. Participants will be provided with a PACS workstation (one per attendee) from which actual patient‘s liver CT and/or MRI studies will be viewed. The cases will range from intermediate to advanced complexity.
The participants will be encouraged to interpret the cases at their own pace. The findings will be reviewed and discussed with the teaching faculty during each module.
- To provide participants with a large number and variety of cases with immediate feedback available from teaching faculty, in an informal and interactive setting.
- To reproduce the PACS work environment but with the benefit of case review analysis and availability of experts for questions.
- To propose an alternative and innovative teaching/learning method based on active involvement by participants.
This course is directed to those radiologists with a good basic knowledge of cross-sectional imaging who want to improve their skills on liver imaging. There is a maximum of 30 participants that can participate in this course.
- Interpret at least 60 patient cases in a PACS workstation.
- Encourage informal and free communication between participants and lecturers in an interactive setting.
- Develop expertise in the diagnostic evaluation of a range of focal and diffuse liver diseases in cirrhotic patients, oncological patients and in patients at no risk with incidentally found liver lesions.
