Tel Aviv is a major city in Israel and the second-most populous city, with population of approximately 430,000 thousand inhabitants, administered by the Israeli government after Jerusalem. It was the first modern Jewish city built in Israel, and is the country’s economic and cultural centre. The UNESCO World Heritage Site gave the place its popular title of 'White City' because of the historic port of Jaffa, which has a fascinating Arab heritage. But the city's real attraction is the local lifestyle. It is a lively, active city with entertainment, culture and art.
