The ESGAR ANNUAL MEETING has become a platform for research exchange in the fields of gastrointestinal and abdominal radiology and it offers a high standard educational and scientific programme.
The scientific programme, composed by the ESGAR 2020 Programme Committee, seeks to promote scientific excellence and inquiry, encourage individual and collective action of current research findings in diagnostic and interventional abdominal and GI radiology.
The ESGAR 2020 Programme Committee therefore welcomes abstract submissions of scientific and educational presentations for ESGAR 2020. Selected abstracts will be accepted for oral presentations and for electronic poster presentation in order to ensure a balanced and representative scientific programme.
Scientific abstracts (Oral Presentations and Scientific Posters) must be structured as follows:
Educational Poster abstracts must be structured as follows:
Abstracts longer than 250 words will not be accepted by the system.
Projects can only be submitted in one presentation category. Posters already on the Poster database may not be re-submitted to ESGAR. Accepted scientific oral presentations will be published online in a supplement to “Insights into Imaging”. Details will be made available in the online abstract submission system.
Presenters will receive the notifications of acceptance via e-mail in January 2020. Authors with accepted abstracts for scientific exhibits will receive a link to the e-Poster system by e-mail, enabling them to upload their poster presentation prior to the meeting.
If you wish to withdraw your submission after having confirmed your acceptance, inform the Central ESGAR Office in writing (via e-mail) immediately.
Please note that all presenters need to register for the congress!
Only data projection will be provided for oral presentations. Presentations must be prepared using PowerPoint for PC. Macintosh presentations must be saved in PC format. Speakers must deliver their presentation to the Preview Centre on a separate, labelled USB stick (ZIP disks are not accepted). Speakers are responsible for testing their presentation for compatibility at the meeting, before handing it in. Further details will be made available together with the notification of acceptance.
Among all submitted e-Posters, the ESGAR Programme Committee will select highlighted posters based on highest rating score and topic relevance. Thus, in addition to the well-established poster exhibition, poster authors could have the honour and great opportunity to present their work in a moderated poster session to an international audience. Presentations will take place from Wednesday to Friday.
The best 20 abstracts, submitted by residents who appear as the first author on the respective abstract and who will actually present their paper during the meeting, form the “ESGAR Top 20”. Authors will receive a diploma, confirming that their abstracts have received the best ratings among other abstracts submitted.
The best ESGAR Poster Presentations will be awarded a Diploma. The following prizes will be awarded: Magna Cum Laude, Cum Laude, and Certificates of Merit.
The evaluation will be performed by a committee and the awarded presentations will be flagged as such in the poster system onsite. Evaluation will be based on novelty, accuracy, educational value and design.
