Practical information about ESGAR 2020

Badges

Name badges will be mailed to participants who register until the second deadline. In case you do not receive your badge in the mail please visit the registration counter at the venue upon your arrival. Participants with a badge on hand may proceed to the fast lane registration.

CME Accreditation

An application will be made to the EACCME for CME accreditation of this event. The EACCME is an institution of the UEMS (www.uems.net). The number of credit hours of European external CME credits will be announced on the ESGAR Website and in the final programme.

Congress language

The official language of ESGAR 2020 is English.

Currency

The Euro is the official currency of the Netherlands.

Dialing code

The international dialing code for the Netherlands is 0031.

Electricity

The voltage in the Netherlands is 230 Volts, 50 Hertz. Sockets meet European regulations and use the two-round pin system.

Emergency

The number 112 can be dialled to reach emergency services from anywhere in Europe.

Filming and photography

We would like to inform you that there will be filming and photography during the annual meeting. A photo gallery with all photos taken during the congress will be available to registered participants on the ESGAR website until the end of June 2020. In addition, photographs taken during ESGAR 2020 may be used for the society's social media channels.

Final programme

A printed version of the final programme will be handed out together with your congress bag upon check in at the venue. The ESGAR 2020 final programme will also be available on the website as well as the official congress app.

How to get to the venue

By plane

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is located a mere 15 minutes from RAI Amsterdam whether you travel by car, train, taxi or bus. The Amsterdam Airport website provides information including: up-to-the-minute flight information, connecting transport facilities to RAI Amsterdam and business facilities.

By train

The RAI has its “own” station - RAI Amsterdam - which is located 300 metres from the RAI complex and is easy to reach from anywhere in the Netherlands. It has direct connection with Duivendrecht, Amsterdam Amstel, Amsterdam Zuid and Schiphol railway stations, which are linked to the international InterCity network. When you leave the station follow the signs for RAI Amsterdam.

By tram, metro and bus

Tram 4 runs between the centre of Amsterdam, Amsterdam Central and the RAI (stop at Europaplein).
Metro 52 will take you from Amsterdam Centraal Station to RAI Amsterdam (Europaplein Station) in just eight minutes.
Metro 50 runs between Amsterdam Sloterdijk and Gein and stops at Station Amsterdam RAI. From Station Amstel you can reach the RAI by Metro 51 (Station Amsterdam RAI), bus 62 (stop Europaplein) or bus 65 (stop Scheldeplein).

By car

Directly on approaching Amsterdam via the motorway A1, A2 or A4 and entering the ring road (A10), the RAI is indicated on the sign boards. RAI Amsterdam is located along-side the ring road (exit 9). From the exit the route to the car park is indicated.

Lead retrieval system

Your name badge is your business card. ESGAR and its sponsors are using a lead retrieval system during the congress. In practice that means that when you present your badge for scanning at an exhibition booth or for scanning when entering an industry sponsored lunch symposium, the following personal data can be retrieved: first name, last name, address details, email address.

Letter of invitation

The Central ESGAR Office is pleased to provide you with a formal invitation letter as soon as ESGAR has received your registration AND payment. It is understood that such an invitation is intended to help potential delegates to raise funds or to obtain a visa. This does not imply any commitment for ESGAR to provide financial funds or accommodation!

Liability

ESGAR is not liable for personal injury and loss of or damage to private property. Participants should obtain the appropriate travel insurance. The place of performance of any duties and obligations for both ESGAR and the participant’s sides shall be Vienna, Austria. Any contractual relationship with ESGAR shall be subject to Austrian law.

Official Partners

All correspondence concerning sponsorship and exhibition at ESGAR 2020 is exclusively handled by MAW - Medizinische Ausstellungs- und Werbegesellschaft. Any questions concerning accommodation in Amsterdam will be handled by RAI Hotel Services.

Smoking

In the Netherlands, smoking is banned in public places including bars and restaurants.

Visa
