MR imaging has become increasingly important in the assessment of abdominal diseases. Radiology training programs throughout Europe enable to acquire a broad basic knowledge in MR imaging. However, a more in-depth knowledge of MR techniques and its application in a wide variety of abdominal disease may be of interest for radiologist in training and young radiologists. Comprehensive knowledge of these areas is considered a prerequisite for accurate assessment of benign and malignant conditions, and essential to be a valuable partner in multidisciplinary meetings.
This workshop aims to provide the attendees with a comprehensive overview of both the diverse technical aspects of MR imaging in conjunction with a detailed knowledge of how these can be successfully deployed in the assessment of specific abdominal conditions. A set of lectures on MR imaging will explain the most up-to-date techniques and protocols in abdominal imaging. The lectures will cover common and less common MR techniques in relation to different abdominal organs and will be delivered by experts in the field. Presentations are followed by case-based discussions and Q&A sessions, which will be led by the faculty members who will help to define the state-of-the-art in the diagnosis of a wide variety of abdominal diseases.
