ESGAR 2027 - 38th Annual Meeting and Postgraduate Course
Meeting President's Invitation
Dear colleagues and friends,
I am proud and excited to welcome you back to Edinburgh and the United Kingdom! Scotland was a cradle of the 18th century European Enlightenment period, with the belief that human reason and scientific inquiry could understand and improve the world. The birth of the ESGAR Enlightenment also began in Scotland, at the British Institute of Radiology meeting in Glasgow in 1988, where the founding idea to create a forum for European subspeciality radiologists was born. Thirty-nine years later, that vision is real. We return to the UK with a meeting that showcases international experts, delivering teaching and a forum to discuss cutting-edge science and clinical practice to benefit patients around the whole world…
Programme
Postgraduate Course: “The Long and Winding Road” – a trip down the alimentary tract
Tuesday, June 15, 2027
The Postgraduate course entitled “The Long and Winding Road” in tribute to the Beatles, one of our most famous UK cultural exports! We are making the alimentary tract our focus, creating a fascinating programme which offers new insights into the structure, function and dysfunction of this complex entity with a ‘fab four’ group of speakers in each session. This promises to be innovative, entertaining and stimulating, delivered by the leading researchers in the field.
Annual Meeting
Wednesday, June 16 – Friday, June 18, 2027

Abstract Submission
The ESGAR Annual Meeting has become a leading international forum for advancing research in gastrointestinal and abdominal radiology. Renowned for its high-quality educational and scientific programme, the event is carefully curated by the ESGAR 2027 Programme Committee to highlight the latest developments and promote knowledge exchange in abdominal and GI radiology.
Committed to inclusivity and global representation, the ESGAR 2027 Programme Committee warmly invites abstract submissions for scientific and educational contributions. All submissions will undergo a thorough review process, with selected abstracts presented as scientific (oral) presentations or electronic posters. This approach helps create a dynamic and diverse programme that reflects the interests and expertise of radiologists worldwide.
